Sony Entertainment Television’s latest offering Kathaa Ankahee is the Hindi remake of the superhit Turkish drama ‘1001 Nights’ (Binbir Gece).
This captivating tale demonstrates how love can bloom even in the most difficult situations. The show is centered around an unforgettable scar that causes a rift between Kathaa (Aditi Dev Sharma) and Viaan (Adnan Khan) but yet keeping them bound.
In the ongoing track, the viewers have seen how Kathaa, a single mother, is racing against time to raise 1 crore in a week for her son Aarav’s surgery.
After exhausting all her options, she will realise how impossible it is to arrange the enormous amount, for which she seeks help from her father-in-law, Kailash Garewal which is essayed by the renowned actor Gireesh Sahdev.
Having been in the industry for around two decades and working across various films and television shows, Gireesh Sahdev is now portraying a grey character of Mr Kailash Garewal, Kathaa’s father-in-law.
Kailash is an adamant father with a preconceived notion about Kathaa, hence never accepted her as their daughter in law. Thinking she is gold digger, he has always had this angst against her even after finding out that his grandson’s life is at stake.
Talking about his character and his experience on the show, actor Gireesh Sahdev shares, “My character Kailash is a strong-headed man whose money and respect is his pride.
He is a very cold person who keeps his ego first rather than any emotion. Even when Kathaa pleads in front of Kailash, his heart does not melt, instead he asks her to die with her son.
When I was approached by the makers, I was thrilled that a show like Katha Ankaee, an official remake of a popular Turkish drama 1001 Night, is coming on Indian Television.
The concept of the show is very intriguing especially a mother’s journey to save her child is just amazing; it just moves you and fills your heard with so many emotions.
